Even more spring break safety tips!

With winter just around the corner, I’m sure most people are already dreaming about the warm place they want to go for spring break. The only things that college kids want from spring break is somewhere that is warm and a place they can consume alcohol. Spring break is just like a mini recess for college students. Even though it is really only a place to drink and have a great time, there are still a few things you need to think about to keep you safe on your next spring break vacation. Just follow these simple spring break safety tips.

1. Buckle up!

A lot of people get a huge group of friends together and road trip to their destination. Nothing can ruin that trip more than a car accident on the way there. Everybody wants to get an early start to spring break so you need to be wary of those that are drinking and driving. More than likely everybody else in the car will be drinking the whole way there, but make sure that you have a sober driver. Also make sure you take turns driving, so that somebody doesn’t fall asleep behind the wheel.

2. Pace yourself!

Remember that spring break is a week long, so you don’t want to overdo it on the first day and have to spend the rest of it in the hospital with alcohol poisoning. Pace yourself if you do choose to drink. Take it easy on the shots and hard alcohol that hit you hard right away and have a lasting effect. 3. Drinking on the beach..

This may seem obvious for those that are standing on the beach all day drinking, but this can lead to a horrible sunburn and even worse hangover. The sun maximizes the effects of alcohol by dehydrating you. Make sure that you are drinking water in between you alcoholic drinks. If you start to feel light headed get to the shade immediately. Make sure that you use plenty of sunscreen as well. You don’t have to try and be macho and think you won’t burn because then you will probably wake up the next day like a tomato.

4. Night life

The number one rule is: go out with your friends, go home with your friends. I know that when you’re drinking and you find somebody that you like then you never want to go home early. You need to look out for each other when you’re in a city that you have never been to before. You have no idea what somebody is capable of or is going to do when they have been drinking. If you see that your friends are out of control then it might be best to take them back to the hotel before things get out of hand.

Even though spring break is a time to let loose and have fun, you need to be cautious because one bad move could ruin the whole trip or maybe even have a live long effect. It is alright to go out and have a good time with your friends, but you also need to be smart while drinking.
