A Tourist’s Guide to Dublin, Ireland


Dublin is one of the most famous European cities. Any tourist who visits Dublin will find it nearly impossible to run out of things to do. Explore our tourist’s guide to Dublin.

1. Guiness Factory:

This brewery attracts more than 4 million tourists each year. Your experience starts by standing at the bottom of the world’s largest pint glass, which rises up through the center of the seven story building. You can take a self-guided tour through the factory and receive a tutorial on the brewery process, including a 15-minute film, and some time spent on top of the Gravity Bar, where tourists will receive a complimentary Guinness.

2. Dublin Castle:

This massive castle looms over the center of Dublin. You can wander the grounds for free, or you can hop on a guided tour of the castle’s interior. The castle represents royal lavishness. Today, Dublin Castle acts mainly as a tourist attraction, located just a few blocks west of Trinity College.

3. St. Patrick’s Cathedral:

St. Patrick’s Cathedral is the largest cathedral in Dublin and the national cathedral of the Church of Ireland.  Today this is one of the most famous and beloved churches in the world. While you’re here, make sure to spend plenty of time admiring the towering ceilings and the delicate details that accompany the Gothic style.

4. St. Stephen’s Green:

This beautiful park is known for remaining green throughout the year. It is a great place to spend a day outside without leaving central Dublin. While taking your outside stroll through the park, you can see many memorials dedicated to Ireland’s great people, including James Joyce and Henry Moore. St. Stephen’s Green is open every day from sunrise to sunset, and there is no entrance fee.

5. Grafton Street:

If you’re looking to get away from the museums and historical sites, Grafton Street is the place to be. This street is the premier shopping district in Dublin. You’ll find everything from familiar brands to more unique items. There are two shopping centers in the area as well, the St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Center and the upscale Powerscourt Townhouse Center. If you’re looking to swipe your credit card, Grafton Street is definitely perfect for you. Not to mention, it’s extremely entertaining with is rambunctious atmosphere. As you walk along the street you’ll see dozens of street performers and musicians hoping to make a few euro. When you get hungry or tired of shopping, stop in one of the many restaurants or pubs on the street.
