Top Beaches in the Philippines with Crystal Clear Water

If there is one country that is blessed with beaches with crystal clear blue waters that would be the Philippines. This shouldn’t come as a surprise though because the country is an archipelago with 7,107 islands.

Here’s a rundown of the top beaches that the locals are extremely proud of.

1. Boracay, Aklan

Boracay is a home to beaches not just clear waters, but also fine sands. Boracay is the most popular beach in the country frequented by foreigners and locals alike. The island was once hailed as the Best Island in the World. It is also included in CNN’s list of 100 Most Beautiful Beaches Worldwide.

2. Coron, Palawan

Coron is Calamian Group’s most beautiful island. Lake Barracuda and Lake Kayangan, which is surrounded by limestone cliffs, are the main attractions although there are other equally stunning lakes. Also, Coron is full of inland, coastal and in-water activities. In fact, it is one of Forbes Travel’s best scuba diving sites worldwide.

3. Bacuit, Palawan

Bacuit is not a popular name, but El Nido, which is just one of the several islands in this mini archipelago, is. Other areas worth exploring are the Miniloc and Matinloc Islands, a big lagoon and a secret beach, respectively. Matinloc Island, for instance, can only be accessed through swimming into a keyhole. Amazing Race shot an episode here.

4. Panglao, Bohol

Aside from the fact that Panglao’s beaches have fine white sand like Boracay’s, there is more to Panglao that no other beaches in the country has. Panglao is a home to more than 250 crustacean species as well as 2,500 mollusk species. In fact, according to the Panglao Marine Biodiversity Project, the island has more species compared to the Mediterranean Sea and Japan combined.

5. Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

Pagudpud is dubbed as the Boracay of the North because of the quality of its waters and sands that can rival that of Boracay. Pagudpud is a very secluded area. The most popular beaches are the Maira-ira Beach and Blue Lagoon Beach.

These are just five of the best beaches in the Philippines. In fact, these aren’t just the best in the country or in Asia, but the world.
