7 Reasons Why Vegas Is Like No Other Place

So you’re planning your next vacation, and it’s down to the finalists. You’re probably considering some of the big party spots, tropical locales, and affordable getaways. I can make the choice extremely easy for you. Vegas has the weather, the fun, and even the affordability to make your next vacation the best one you’ve had. No, I’m not part of the tourist bureau, just a longtime visitor who’s decided to make Sin City my home. Check out seven reasons that Vegas is a city like no other.

World Class Entertainment

Las Vegas truly is the capital of live entertainment in the world with a huge variety of options to choose from. Comedy, live theater, magic, music, Cirque, sports, and huge expos are just some of the things you can enjoy any day of the week in the city of sin. With acts that are recurring as well as special guests constantly filtering themselves in and out you’ll never be without something just for you. What’s better is you can often score impressively low prices for tickets, making it the perfect combination of entertainment and affordability.

Incredible Hotel Deals

Everyone knows of the magnificent hotels littered throughout the city, but some of the savings you can make given different scenarios will change the way you think you can have fun. Discounted rates during the low times of the week can save you cash as well as staying at off-the-strip hotels like the Eastside Cannery or The M. Regardless of your budget, you can find a great place to stay in Vegas.

Bigger, Better Attractions

From the elegant Bellagio fountains with their choreographed water shows to the thrilling Stratosphere rides that give you a look at the city from above, there are so many unique attractions in Las Vegas. You can start your day with a gorgeous hike, then go to a roller coaster that winds around a working hotel. Finish the night with a walk down Fremont Street where you’ll find a variety of performers – some better than others – waiting to wow you. This town truly offers a world-class experience.

The Heat

Sure, you’ve heard that Vegas gets insanely hot during the summer (“It’s a dry heat!”) but you shouldn’t let that deter you from visiting. There are plenty of us locals who live here year-round, and businesses have made it absolutely bearable to enjoy a great time. Most destinations on the Strip feature micro spray misters, meaning you’ll stay cool even in the heat of day. Best of all, the high heat means the temperatures stay toasty (>90°) throughout the night, so you can enjoy the wee hours of the morning without ever needing to worry about packing a jacket.

Nightlife

The nightclubs in Sin City are some of the most energized rooms on the entire west coast. After all, you’re surrounded by hundreds of people who are in Vegas solely to cut loose and have a great time. Famous spots like Drai’s still have their famous swanky atmosphere, with leather seating and private tables all year round. And clubs like Hakkasan are consistently pulling in huge acts like Tiesto and Calvin Harris. And there are dozens of other clubs to be found all over the city, so finding the one that’s right for you is easy to do.

Access to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam

While it may seem touristy, the mind-blowing natural wonders that are accessible from Las Vegas are not as far out of your reach as you might think. With options for charter buses and even helicopters, you could visit both the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam in a day with time for plenty of pictures at both. The insane beauty of the Grand Canyon is something every person should be allowed to experience. And the Hoover Dam is an icon of American history that will stand the test of time. Definitely worth the short trek.

Kids in Las Vegas

As much fun as Las Vegas can be for adults, it’s also got plenty of great options that kids will enjoy! You could check out the world-class Mandalay Bay aquarium, take a tour through M&M World, ride the world’s largest Ferris wheel, enjoy the rollercoaster at New York New York, play around all day at the Adventuredome, or explore the children’s museum, just to name a few. There are literally so many great activities for kids that you could keep the whole family busy for weeks!

Las Vegas truly is a town unlike any other. And with gorgeous, sunny weather year-round there is never a bad time to plan your next trip! Maybe I’ll even see you there.
