Ah, the great bachelorette party challenge (well, until the email planning thread reaches into the hundreds of emails) – where to go? As bachelorette planning veterans, we like to break down the destinations by seasons (Aspen in winter is a very different place than in the summer), and we’ve scoured the US for the best bachelorette destination if your bestie is planning a fall bachelorette:
1. Napa/Sonoma
While a wine country bachelorette is the perfect option for a relaxed (but boozy) celebration full of delicious food and gorgeous scenery any season, fall is the best time to go. The weather is typically lovely in Northern California, and the wineries are busy with crush season, ensuring that your tours will go beyond the ordinary tasting room visit. Beyond the wineries, consider adding in a detour and pausing for some oyster shucking, beach bonfires, and coastal hikes.
2. Charleston
We love Charleston year round (don’t get us started on how much we miss the mile high biscuits at Hominy Grill when we’ve been gone too long), but fall is an especially great time to host a bachelorette there. Hit up the nearby beaches for stand-up paddleboarding or hire a boat for a cruise of the Harbor, enjoy the multitude of rooftop bars downtown, and book a low country boil for your group to get the full Charleston experience.
3. San Diego
Is the fall chill starting to get you down in the North or Midwest? A trip to San Diego will cure that. Make sure to explore the craft brewery scene, take advantage of a beach yoga session (or you know, learn how to do yoga on a surf board, because California), and eat all the tacos.
4. New York
There is a reason that songs and movies are written about New York in the fall – the leaves in Central Park change, everyone gets back from the Hamptons, and the city picks back up to full speed after the (relatively) slower summer months. New York specializes in unique bachelorette activities – from a special tour of the Met, trapeze classes, and a picnic in Central Park (pick up some giant cookies at the Upper West Side’s Levain Bakery ).
