How to Find the Best Times to Pin on Pinterest


Pinterest is a gold mine when it comes to travel. Within the boards of Pinterest lies endless amounts of wanderlust and travel inspiration – making it the perfect medium for travel agents, travel planners, tour operators, and concierges. In fact, it’s predicted that in 2016, 47.6 million users will find their way onto Pinterest, giving travel businesses a load of opportunities to capture new and current clients.

Besides having amazing pins and boards on your Pinterest account, an important factor to totally dominating in Pinterest is making sure that your pins are getting seen and at the right time. Exposing your pin at the right time isn’t rocket science either. By following a few simple rules and doing some research, you can nail the perfect pinning times for your audience and we’ll show you how.

First things first know your audience. Where do they live? How old are they? Knowing these key things will really help you analyze your best times to pin. If you audience lived in the United States, then understand that your pinners can be on Pinterest anywhere from 7 a.m. EST to 11 p.m. EST, so think how your audience spends their day. If they are between the ages of 35-55, they probably have full-time jobs, so pinning in the middle of the day might not get as many eyes as pinning in the evening or weekend. In fact, only 4.8% of pinners pin during work hours, so plan accordingly.

Did you know that Saturday holds the record for the highest rate of travel and vacation pins?

According to a study done by Quicksprout, they have found that the best times to pin. From this, you will find are when users are most likely taking breaks from their work and daily chores.

Another way to get your pin noticed? Having good “pin frequency”. A good starting point should be to aim for at least five pins a day. Piqora interviewed 200 big brands (think: Whole Foods, LL Bean, Lowes) and discovered that many of these brands experienced the most consistent growth from Pinterest somewhere between “A few pins a week” and “3 to 10 pins per day”.
