1. Haymarket Park

Summertime is baseball season. Although Nebraska is known for its Huskers College Football program, spending an afternoon at the Hawks Field in the Haymarket Park is a fun group activity you should not pass on.

Even if you are not the biggest baseball or softball fan, the lively atmosphere and the fine ballpark food and drinks will leave you with the most delightful memories.

2. Lincoln Bike Trails

If you want to get even more active, enjoy the green, sunny Lincoln outdoors following the 130 miles of interconnected trekking trails snaking in and around Lincoln. There are over 10 specific trail projects that link together parks, green areas, and notable urban landmarks — all of which are worth discovering.

3. Hit off the tee

Lincoln is green by nature. It shows it off with two fantastic golf courses that will take you a whole day to trek.

The Wilderness Ridge is a multi award-winning golf course — training grounds of the University of Nebraska golf team. On top of the beautiful sprawling setting, there is an in-house Lodge Restaurant that offers a fine dining experience doubled with a wine bar that remain open all day.

4. Skate Zone

You might not know it but Lincoln is an unsuspected roller skating hotspot. Not only does it home the National Museum of Roller Skating but also numerous roller skating rinks.

6. The Corky Canvas

7. Lux Center for the Arts

A little bit art gallery, art museum, and workshop, the Lux Center for the Arts is the place for those who have an eye for beauty.

But like the Corky Canvas, the great thing about this places is the classes that are offered for the public — as much kids than adults. If you are looking for offbeat date night or an artsy setting for a party, this is it.

8. Honest Abe’s Burgers + Freedom

Gourmet fries, unique burger creations including “The Hammer of Thor”, Eating at Honest Abe’s is a quintessential thing to do in Lincoln. If you come in a large group, the challenge will be to find seats given that this imaginative burger joint is always packed.

9. Ivanna Cone Ice cream

Unique, family-owned  Ivanna Cone ice creams are hand-crafted. This gourmet ice cream shop serves inventive flavor-combinations in delicious edible waffle cones.

You won’t find any of these flavors anywhere else in the world. And while the shop won’t be big enough to accommodate large group, you must grab a cone for a stroll through Lincoln Haymarket.
