The beach is quite popular for lovers or couples as it’s almost vacant and its’ serene climate adds to the romance. You can relax or stroll around while soaking up in the sun, or you can also go swimming in the calm, pristine waters. Formerly known as Kaala Paani (meaning, black waters), Cellular Jail memorial in Port Blair is a must visit attraction in Andaman. The jail was originally used by the British as a prison for the political prisoners. Today, the memorial is reminiscent of the struggle India went through to attain freedom. The most famous Indian freedom fighter to be jailed here was V D Savarkar.
